Safari Overview

Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth NP Safari
The safari will start from kampala and end in Kampala taking you for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, west across the Albertine Rift Valley. Here you will view the terrain of the forest, the plant life, animal life and birdlife plus some butterflies, then head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the launch trip on the Kazinga channel and game driving.

It is positioned between Lake Edward and Lake George in the western arm of the Great Rift Valley. Diverse habitats include open Savannah, dense papyrus swamps, crater lakes and rainforest– one of the highest species diversity in the world. You will see a diversity of animal life and birdlife. You will also go for chimpanzee tracking and Maramagambo forest walk, then later head back to Kampala.

Day 1:

Arrive at Entebbe Airport.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

In the morning you will have breakfast to drive south-west of Uganda. A stop at the equator for photographs, and in Mbarara for lunch. The journey will take you through large banana plantations, papyrus woodland, and terraced landscapes of the ‘Switzerland of Africa’. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma lodge/Buhoma community

Day3: GorillaTracking.

Following breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off at 8:00 am through the tracks to search for the humble giants. You will go with packed lunch because it’s hard to determine how long it will take you to meet these giant primates. However the time ranges between 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the great apes primates.A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. The activity is quite tiresome, but encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories/ hardships you went through in trying to find them. They are awe-inspiring! Day4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park/ Launch cruise

Have Breakfast to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take you through the Ishasha sector to reach the park in the afternoon. You will have a game drive enroute where you might spot game along the way as you transfer to the park headquarters. Watch out for tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector.
Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/ Buffalo resort (budget)

Day5: Morning Game drive.

Before dawn, you will wake up to go for an early morning game drive. This game drive will take you through the Kasenyi sector and the queens’ mile in the park and will reward you with animals like Lions, elephants, hyenas, Giant forest hogs, Bush bucks, Warthogs, Hyenas, civets, aardvarks, Leopards, and many more. Relax at the lodge in the afternoon you will go for the boat on the kazinga channel to see crocodiles, hippos, elephants and many other animals that will have come to drink water. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/ Buffalo resort.

Day6: Drive back to Entebbe.

Drive through Mbarara town for lunch, have a stopover at the Equator for photos and shopping and then after head to Entebbe town arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight at lake Victoria hotel/ central inn.
